For those interested in reading a little more on the background and philosophy of Montessori education, I highly recommend Allyn Stillman's "Montessori: The First Hundred Years," as well as M. Montessori, Ph.D.'s "Autobiography of a Teacher," available in the CRSP database.
Are we ready to look into the CRSP database for a bit? Now, what did I

The poster presentation is an important component of the scientific meeting. They often provide the only opportunity to present work in progress to an audience. But, more importantly, the poster session is one of the few places where trainees have the opportunity to get feedback from their supervisors, other members of the scientific community, and other senior scientists. This article will discuss the requirements for posters, some of the best poster sessions, and poster development. Additionally, a list of our own practices for poster reviews will be provided.Phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase as a novel target for hypoxia-induced tissue injury.
Phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase (PHGPX) catalyzes the reduction of phospholipid hydroperoxides to their corresponding alcohols in a glutathione (GSH)-dependent reaction, and thus protects cells against oxidative stress. PHGPX was purified from porcine lung as a GSH-dependent phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione transferase (PHGPXt). The activity of PHGPXt is markedly increased under hypoxic conditions. Recombinant PHGPXt (rPHGPXt) was overexpressed in Escherichia coli cells, and purified to homogeneity. The GSH-dependent activities of rPHGPXt and PHGPXt are partially inhibited by non-specific metal chelators. These results suggest that the increased activity of PHGPXt observed under hypoxic conditions is probably due to chelation of divalent metals. Many different systems for the detection of leaky pipes have been suggested in the past. Most of them are based on the principle that there is a substantial difference between the pressure inside a pipe and the pressure outside. Many of the systems known in the prior art operate on the principle that differences between the inside and the outside pressure are caused by the existence of a leak
